FAQ

  • Aluminium flat bar, also referred to as aluminium strip, is a flat aluminium profile commonly used in various sectors. Applications include skirting boards, connection strips, finishing strips, anchor plates, coupling plates and lifting anchors.

  • Aluminium flat bars are available in a wide range of sizes, from small and thin dimensions (such as 10 x 2 mm) to larger and thicker sizes (up to 200 x 20 mm), with a standard length of 6 metres. They are produced in alloy EN AW-6060 (AlMgSi0.5).

  • Depending on the application, aluminium flat bars can be finished with various surface treatments, both functional and decorative. Options include wet painting, powder coating, brushing and (hard) anodising. These treatments improve both the appearance and the durability of the material.

  • Yes, aluminium flat bars can be cut to size. They can also be welded, screwed, glued or riveted, depending on the specific requirements of the project. Flat bars can also be customised by cutting them from aluminium sheet material, available in mill finish, powder coated or anodised finishes.

  • The EN AW-6060 alloy in temper T66 is known for its medium strength, good corrosion resistance, excellent anodisability and weldability (although some strength reduction may occur after welding). These properties make it a typical profile alloy with broad applicability.

  • Aluminium flat bars comply with specific standards and tolerances. The dimensional tolerances are defined in EN 755-9, the technical delivery conditions in EN 755-1, the chemical composition in EN 573-3 and the mechanical properties in EN 755-2. These specifications ensure the quality and reliability of the product.
